(More customer reviews)With the "Logitech® Pure-Fi Dream" now an aborted project (a Logitech sales rep told me, point blank; no chance), and the ExtremeMac "Luna X2" getting pushed back AGAIN and AGAIN, iPhone and Touch users are finding it pretty difficult to track down a compatable alarm clock.

I bought an IH9 from iHome, and tried it out for a few weeks. A great unit, with one deal-breaking exception. Humming at low volumes!! I tried turning off the Wi-Fi...., lowering the backlight... but I still had this annoying hum. When the device is 3 feet from your pillow, and you use it for going to sleep, this flaw is unforgivable.

Returned the unit, and just received my iP99BR direct from iHome.

Well, I love it. The design is slightly less sexified than the IH9, but the sound seems slightly bolder. The remote is larger, and feels weighted; a comfortable fit. One disadvantage of the design is that the display is straight-on, whereas the IH9 seemed tilted up slightly, which gave a better visibility. Not really a major complaint.

The key difference is that the iP99BR appears to have corrected the horrid humming sound at low (and all) volumes that plagued the IH9. I suppose they shielded the speakers correctly, but in any case, my only real complaint has been resolved.

The bottom line is, for iPhone and Touch owners, the iP99BR is the only game in town.... certainly at this price-point.

I won't bother to go over the feature set. Just look at the product description and reviews for the IH9. They share identical features, which are legion, and are great.

(More customer reviews)Gave it four stars because the sound quality is less than stellar... but it is afterall an alarm clock.I have to have it pitch black to sleep which is why this thing is perfect.When I'm awake and need to see the clock I hit the 'dimmer' button on the remote and viola, Light!At night though the little blue light can be completely turned off.This with the remote and sleep function completely sold me.It's small and relatively unnoticeable so it sits on my night stand without being obtrusive.Oh! You can set the volume at a certain level and the alarm at a higher level, for those who have a hard time waking.

(More customer reviews)I bought this radio after extensive searching both on Amazon and the Apple website. After several days of use, I'm very happy: it's very well designed, sounds good, and works as promised. The two criticisms which prevent my awarding a '5' are 1. that the clock/radio is unaware of the phone ring (it won't turn down music, or broadcast the ring through the speakers and thus you can miss inbound calls), and 2. the audio quality is good, not great.

Prior to buying, I looked for a clock radio that worked with the iPhone 3G and offered excellent audio quality. My goal was to consolidate some of the equipment in my room: ipod speakers, clock, radio, charging station. Sound quality and aesthetic were both important to me.

The box includes the radio, remote, charger, an fm antenna (just a wire), and an am wire (a loop antenna). There are inserts for several types of iPods and the iPhone 3G.

The manual is shockingly well written. It's simple (about 4 pages in English) but complete.

The clock has several cool features: you can set an alarm to wake you up every day, every weekday, and only on weekends. Each alarm can be set to wake you to radio, a specific ipod playlist, or a random song from your library. There's a buzzer alarm too.

The interface is really intuitive. Controls and settings are easy to use. There's a cool 'turn down' feature that softens music (ultimately to off) while you fall asleep.

I previously used the Bose Sound Dock before and loved it. The audio is excellent, but it does not have the clock nor the FM radio function. The iP9 does not live up to the audio quality of the Bose. Not Bose, but good.

As stated, the radio/iPod is unaware of the phone's ringing. It would be really nice if it turned down the volume so you could hear the ring! Or even better, the ringer should sound through the speakers.

I am really happy with the product. I would give it a 5 with better sound quality and a ring 'awareness'.
