The matte finish is comfortable in the hand, and does not show fingerprints much.Of course, a very small portion of the front chrome bezel is left exposed, and it clearly does not provide anywhere near the same level of drop protection as other more bulky cases.

I really like the crystal film screen protector that comes with this as well.Very durable, though it does not extend across the entire screen, leaving a mm or two exposed around all the edges.The package contains anti-glare as well.Super easy to apply the static-based protector, absolutely no problems, unlike complaints commonly heard with respect to Invisible Shield-type products that use liquid to assist in the adhesive process.

I've been using for a couple weeks, and have no concerns with scratching due to particles that lodge between the case and the ipod touch.

Objectively speaking, it is ridiculous we'd choose to pay this much for a piece of cheap plastic and a couple small screen protectors, but the purchase definitely provides ease of mind, especially if you've got kids around or are concerned about minor scrapes/bumps/scratches.
