(More customer reviews)A couple of months ago, I lost the included USB cable for this player (in a motel room I think)and so I contacted Virgin's customer service department for info on purchasing a new one. I was told to purchase it at any electronics outlet - Circuit City, Radio Shack, etc and that I could not buy a new one directly from Virgin. Well after two months of searching I want to say that this is impossible. It is a non standard cable and no one sells it through normal retail or has even seen one. It is standard on one end but has a very small 2.5mm 4-conductor pin-style connector on the other (cell phone size). No USB cable I can locate matches it.

Several other emails came back with the same canned response!!! SO...from now on, I can guarantee that Virgin products will not be considered when I purchase again. I gave nearly $100 for it and could not even recharge it to listen to the songs already on it for this cable does both - provides downloading AND charges built-in battery.
