had these problems from day one:
When set to "normal" supposed to play through list. But, skipping and missing songs. Even jump from folder to folder.
Seemingly like magic it then OK with 3 basic folders and 0.750 gig used. Several days of use.
All seems good, so then add nested folders, 3 main category and 3 inside each of those, = one nested layer. with 1.3 gig of songs total.
Device played OK for a week
Once again the `magic' happens, the folders and files disappeared, vanished. How gone? drive space was empty, except for the Original 3 folders and original 0.750 gig of songs.?!?! Yes, the items added were as if they had never been, only the first set of uploads was there. Seems illogical and even impossible, BUT.
Then called long distance to their support, they say NOT to nest folders because IT COULD DAMAGE the unit. ?!!!! I say -why is that important information Not included in the manual, Not in the manual that comes with, and not in the PDF.
With new info, then re-load to 10 first level folders, 1.4 gig,
Then seems OK, but now navigation hangs up, Not all the time, just occasionally, and random acts of weirdness. such as won't play when play button pushed, turn on unit and only the system folders -voice, fm, - show up = turn unit off and back on, then all show up. sometimes folders show up in alphabetical, sometimes show up in random order -- plays folder but sometimes skips songs and plays others twice, - yes, the play setting is still on Normal" -

the good, it has a navigation screen, the Apple 2 gig Shuffledoesn't and is $70

the bad, the software is very unreliable
the bad, the earphone jack is not secure, lets stereo jump to left or right
